Christian Koloko expressed his thankfulness and excitement for the new chapter in his career as he signed a contract with the Los Angeles Lakers. The 7-foot center Koloko returns to the Lakers following a difficult stretch of his career. Medical issues halted his progress after a bright debut season (2022) with the Toronto Raptors, when he averaged 3.1 points, 2.9 rebounds, and one block per game. Due to a blood clot problem, he missed a large portion of the 2023–24 season and was finally dismissed by the Raptors. Koloko has been fighting to become healthy again and has been given the all-clear to return to the NBA despite this setback.
