Isaac Okoro signs a 3-year, $38 million contract with Cavaliers
Isaac Okoro will play with the Cleveland Cavaliers for an additional three years.
This summer, the former Auburn product became a restricted free agent. Although this offered the Cavs the opportunity to match any offer Okoro received from another team, the team decided to handle the negotiations on their own and secure their valuable bench player for the time being.
In 2020, Cleveland selected Isaac Okoro with the fifth overall pick. With career-high averages of 9.6 points, 3.1 rebounds, and 1.9 assists per game in his rookie year, he enjoyed his greatest season as a player. In 2023–24, Okoro finished with averages of 9.4 points, 3.0 rebounds, and 1.9 assists per game, just matching his rookie year. More crucially for the Cavaliers, he made major defensive progress and is currently regarded as their best perimeter defender.
