Cleveland Cavaliers beat the Chicago Bulls 119-113
Donovan Mitchell scored a season-high 36 points, and the Cleveland Cavaliers beat the Chicago Bulls 119-113 on Monday night to become the eighth NBA team to begin a season with 12 straight wins.
Evan Mobley had 15 points and 11 rebounds, while Darius Garland scored 17 points for Cleveland. For the eleventh time, the Cavaliers scored at least 110 points. With 24 seconds remaining, Garland hit a layup, and Mitchell finished with two free throws.
For the sixth time in six games, Chicago lost, despite 26 points from Zach LaVine. Nicola Vucevic and Coby White both scored 20 points. With 4:26 remaining in the third quarter, the Bulls had sprung out to a nine-point lead before Cleveland rallied late for the second consecutive game. They rallied once more, just like they did in their victory over Brooklyn on Saturday, 105-100. Their reserves were a major asset, as Caris LeVert, Ty Jerome, and Georges Niang all scored 12 points. Point guard Lonzo Ball (right wrist injury) is anticipated to begin dribbling exercises now that he is out of a brace.
