Bangladesh registered first win over Pakistan after 15 Tests

Bangladesh beat Pakistan by 10 wickets on Day 5 of the first Test at Rawalpindi Cricket Stadium, Rawalpindi.

Bangladesh registered a historic maiden Test match win over Pakistan by defeating them by 10 wickets on Day 5 of the first Test, held on Sunday, August 25, at Rawalpindi Cricket Stadium, Rawalpindi. Pakistan began the day at 23/1, trailing by 94 runs in their first innings. However, the hosts were completely undone by the spin attack of Mehidy Hasan Miraz (4/21) and Shakib Al Hasan (3/44), who collectively took seven wickets to dismiss Pakistan for just 146 runs. Chasing a modest target of 30 runs in the fourth innings, Bangladesh's openers, Zakir Hasan and Shadnam Islam, comfortably reached the goal without losing a wicket, sparking celebrations for their nation's historic achievement.

The collapse for Pakistan began early in the day's play when Hasan Mahmud dismissed Pakistan's captain, Shan Masood, for 14. Babar Azam, under pressure after failing in the first innings, got a lifeline early on when Litton Das dropped him on zero.
