Franco Colapinto is receiving immense interest across the F1 paddock. Aside from Red Bull’s now well-established campaign to sign the Argentine, Alpine have emerged as team pursuing Colapinto.
Argentine talent Franco Colapinto has attracted considerable attention across the Formula 1 paddock. While Red Bull has been leading the charge to sign him, Alpine has also emerged as a contender, adding complexity to the dynamic 2025 driver market. Officially, Gabriel Bortoleto’s recent move to Sauber completes next year’s grid, but in F1, surprises are common. Red Bull, known for its driver swaps, could make a last-minute change, potentially placing Colapinto alongside Max Verstappen.
Sergio Perez’s uncertain future with Red Bull has prompted the team to scout outside their academy. Both team principal Christian Horner and advisor Helmut Marko have voiced interest in Colapinto, positioning him as a top contender. Despite strong performances from Red Bull juniors Liam Lawson and Yuki Tsunoda, the reigning champions remain unconvinced, and Colapinto could emerge as their chosen driver to partner with Verstappen.
