Gujarat's openers gives Chennai Super Kings a ton of grief

Shubman Gill and Sai Sudharsan’s knock put Gujarat in the leading position at first later, Mohit Sharma among others defended the target well against Super Kings.

Shubman Gill and opening partner Sai Sudharsan scored centuries to lead Gujarat Titans to an Indian Premier League victory over Chennai Super Kings by 35 runs. Captain Gill, who was not included in India's T20 World Cup team, scored 104 runs off of 55 balls, and left-hander Sudharsan achieved his first IPL century with a fantastic 103 runs off of 51 balls.

While Daryl Mitchell (63) and Moeen Ali (56) were batting, Gujarat’s total of 3-231 was momentarily contested, but Chennai was defeated at 8-196. With a 3-31 total, medium-pacer Mohit Sharma got rid of both half-century scorers. Chennai's defeat made the playoff race more competitive. Chennai held onto the fourth and final playoff berth, while Gujarat was slightly outside the hunt but would need to win both of their remaining games by significant margins in order to significantly raise their net run rate.
