Inter Milan are keeping tabs on Napoli goalkeeper Alex Meret
Inter Milan are keeping tabs on Napoli goalkeeper Alex Meret as a potential free transfer opportunity for next summer.
Valter De Napoli, the director of the Italian publication Radio Kiss Kiss, says as much. Via FCInter1908, he said live that Nerazzurri President Beppe Marotta is keeping tabs on the 27-year-old's contract status. Meret's contract with Napoli is set to expire at the end of June of next year.
In actuality, the Italian international's contract was scheduled to expire at the end of June this year. Napoli could have extended his contract by one season, though. As a result, the Partenopei were spared the chance of losing Meret during the summer transfer window on a free transfer. Meret's contract extension option, however, merely delayed the future by a full year. The 27-year-old's contract is still set to expire at the end of June of next year. Meret may so go on a free transfer at the conclusion of the current campaign.
