James Anderson Registered For 1st IPL At 42

James Anderson retired from Test cricket after 188 matches for England earlier this year, taking 704 wickets to finish as the third highest wicket-taker ever

James Anderson, who concluded his international career earlier this year as the most successful fast bowler in Test cricket, says he has put himself up for the next IPL super auction in order to learn more about the game. The 42-year-old Anderson, who has never participated in an Indian Premier League game and last played in a Twenty20 competition in 2014, made the unexpected decision to register for the auction, which is set to take place in Jeddah on November 24 and 25, at a base price of Rs 1.25 crore.

After playing 188 Test matches for England earlier this year, Anderson retired from the game. He finished as the third-highest wicket-taker in history, behind Australia's spin guru Shane Warne (708), and Sri Lankan icon Muttiah Muralitharan (800).
