The second Test of the current three-match series between India and New Zealand will take place at Pune. The game is slated to begin on Thursday, October 24, at the Maharashtra Cricket Association (MCA) Stadium. The hosts will hope to put up a strong display in Pune to even the series after losing the first game by eight wickets in Bengaluru last week.
Star Indian spinner Ravichandran Ashwin will have an opportunity to make history and become the most-captained wicket-taker in World Test Championship (WTC) history during the second Test match against the Black Caps. In 38 games thus far, the 38-year-old spinner has claimed 186 wickets. To surpass Australian spinner Nathan Lyon's record and go up to the top of the elite list, he has to take two more wickets in the Pune encounter. Lyon has managed to strike out 187 hitters in the Baggy Greens' 43 WTC games thus far.
