RCB keep playoffs hope alive after beating DC by 47 runs
In the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2024 at the M. Chinnaswamy Stadium, Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) defeated Delhi Capitals (DC) by 47 runs, preserving their hopes of making the playoffs.
The only two noteworthy batsmen for the Delhi-based team were Axar Patel (57 runs from 39 balls, 5 fours and 3 sixes) and Jake Fraser-McGurk (21 runs from 8 balls, 2 fours and 2 sixes), but they were unable to assist their team in winning the Sunday evening game. In addition to Fraser-McGurk and interim captain Axar, Shai Hope (29 runs from 23 balls, 4 fours) assisted DC in reaching the target of 188 runs. The Capitals were unable to pursue the goal after fast wicket fell. Yash Dayal spearheaded the RCB bowling assault, taking three wickets in his four-over performance while conceding only twenty runs. In his four-over stint, Lockie Ferguson also claimed two wickets while conceding 23 runs.
