Inter Milan managed a 1-1 draw against Monza
Inter Milan managed a 1-1 draw against Monza in Serie A, maintaining their unbeaten streak. Denzel Dumfries scored late to cancel out Dany Mota's goal for Monza.
After a goalless draw with Monza on Sunday, Inter was knocked out of the top spot in Serie A. In the 81st minute, Monza's substitute striker Dany Mota gave them the lead. However, Inter's Denzel Dumfries equalized seven minutes later to prevent an upset. A fantastic chance for Lautaro Martinez to give Inter an early lead was lost. Martinez was reached by Federico Dimarco's exquisite cross, but his header just missed the mark. Dimarco and Davide Frattesi missed opportunities as well, but Monza's defense held strong.
Nine minutes from time, Armando Izzo lofted a beautiful cross that Dany Mota headed in to give Monza an unexpected lead. Inter was under pressure to react fast because of this goal. After lagging behind, Inter stepped up their efforts. With two minutes remaining, Carlos Augusto's low cross was touched in by defender Dumfries, but they were unable to secure a victory.
