Arsenal beat Tottenham 1-0
Arsenal left archrival Tottenham’s stadium with a win for the third season in a row after Gabriel Magalhaes’ second-half header settled a feisty and physical north London derby
For a large portion of the match, Tottenham had Arsenal under siege, but the visitors were able to withstand the pressure and win 1-0 thanks to a goal from Gabriel in the 64th minute. With a thunderous header from the center of the box, the Brazilian center back met a corner from Bukayo Saka after losing his marker.
After the final whistle, Gabriel said, "It is a big derby and we are so happy to win here," as he joyfully celebrated in front of the opposing supporters. "Now let's enjoy it." The goal was mostly against the flow of play, but it gave Arsenal a crucial win. With just two points between them and the defending champion Manchester City in sight, Arsenal cannot afford to lose any more ground before visiting the Etihad Stadium the following weekend.
