Inter drew 1-1 with Serie A championship rivals Napoli
Inter missed the chance to overtake Napoli at the top of Serie A on Sunday as the teams played out a 1-1 draw in Milan.
After scoring an incredible equaliser and missing a late penalty, Hakan Calhanoglu transformed from hero to villain as Inter drew 1-1 with Serie A championship rivals Napoli. Scott McTominay, continuing his excellent performance, scored from close range after a Napoli corner was flicked on in the 23rd minute, giving Inter the lead against the flow of play.
Calhanoglu equalised with a powerful drive from beyond the box two minutes prior to halftime, beating Alex Meret of Napoli before settling in the top corner. After Andre-Frank Zambo Anguissa fouled Denzel Dumfries in the 74th minute, the Turkey international, who had already scored 17 straight penalty penalties for Inter in the league, had the opportunity to win it. But when he struck the post from 12 yards out, leaving San Siro in stunned stillness, he made sure the two Scudetto hopefuls had to settle for a point each.
