Newcastle beat Arsenal 1-0

Newcastle came into the match against title-chasing Arsenal sitting 10th and without a win in five Premier League games.

Newcastle was in 10th place and had lost their last five Premier League games going into their matchup with title-chasing Arsenal. Although their efforts haven't always been reflected in their results, Eddie Howe's team earned the three points at St. James' Park on Saturday. Newcastle took the lead at 12 minutes when Alexander Isak headed a lovely cross from Anthony Gordon into the area, and the home team never looked back.

They controlled the game, and even if the Magpies had opportunities, Howe will probably be happiest in defense. Full-backs as the home team defended valiantly, Lewis Hall and Tino Livramento neutralized Bukayo Saka and Gabriel Martinelli on the flanks. As they look to duplicate the outstanding fourth-place result from the previous campaign, Newcastle must now seek to build on this success going ahead.
