Nottingham Forest 3-1 victory over hosts Leicester City

Chris Wood scored a brace as Nottingham Forest moved up to fifth in the Premier League with a 3-1 victory over hosts Leicester City in the East Midlands

With a 3-1 victory against hosts Leicester City in Friday's East Midlands derby, Nottingham Forest advanced to fifth place in the Premier League, highlighting their strong start to the campaign with two goals from Chris Wood. Jamie Vardy equalized for the home team after Ryan Yates gave Forest the lead with an uncommon goal. In the second half, the visitors were far superior, and Woods' double helped them win handily. The visitors could have won by a larger margin, but Leicester goalkeeper Mads Hermansen produced a spectacular stop from point-black range to deny Nicolas Dominguez, Forest winger Callum Hudson-Odoi hit the post, and Yates missed a chance.

Despite playing one more game than their rivals, Forest moves into the top five with 16 points from nine games. With nine points from as many games, Leicester is in 14th position as they continue to give up goals.
