Former Aston Villa midfielder sustains a permanent injury after joining Nice
This past summer, Morgan Sanson was granted permanent leave by Aston Villa, after a good loan period, he joined Nice.
After leaving Aston Villa during the summer transfer window, Morgan Sanson moved permanently to Nice in his home country, but only a few months later, he sustained what is believed to be a long-term injury to his ankle.
The 30-year-old cost Nice an estimated £3.5 million this summer when he signed a permanent contract. The previous season, he was allowed to join the team on loan, and his performance there was sufficient to prompt a permanent return to Ligue 1. Sanson was expected to be a key member of the team, but on the eve of the Ligue 1 season, he sustained an ankle injury during training. As a result, he was unable to participate in Nice's opening three league games of the season, which were a loss to Auxerre, a draw with Toulouse, and an upset over Angers.
