Nice and Brest still fighting for the Champions League spot

Nice and Brest are both vying for a spot in the Champion League.

After a 1-1 draw at home against Reims in the French league on Friday, Brest lost the opportunity to secure a spot in the Champions League for the following year. Brest, which is currently three points ahead of Lille in third place, has already secured the European League for the first time in its history. The Champions League is open to the top three finishers. Lille, in fourth position, has a match and can cause trouble for Brest.

After twenty-five minutes, Marshall Munetsi gave Reims the lead but soon enough Lilian Brassier equalized Brest with a header in first-half stoppage time. Leaving the team with one point each from the matchup. Ranked fifth following a 1-0 victory over Le Havre thanks to a goal from Jeremie Boga, Nice is also vying for a spot in the Champion League. Nice trails Lille by one point and Brest by four. On the other end of the table, Le Havre continues to struggle just three points above the relegation zone.
