PSG routs Montpellier 6-0
Paris Saint-Germain seems to be doing just fine without Kylian Mbappe.
PSG defeated Montpellier 6-0 on Friday to extend its winning streak to two matches in the French league. Mbappe left for Real Madrid this summer, and PSG is now playing without him.
Despite the expectation of many that PSG's hold on the trophy would weaken with the departure of its star striker, the team is vying for its fourth consecutive league triumph. That hasn't been the case thus far, as the club has scored 10 goals in its first two games. After three minutes, Marco Asensio doubled the advantage with a low effort from the middle of the area after João Neves set him up with a deft ball. Bradley Barcola had opened the scoring with an angled strike from nine yards out. The 19-year-old Neves, who joined from Benfica in the summer, has already contributed three assists in as many outings.
