Bayern defeated Cologne to postpone Leverkusen party

Bayern Munich defeated Cologne 2-0, delaying Bayer Leverkusen's title celebrations for at least another day and leaving the second-bottom Billy Goats five points from safety.

Bayern won at their Munich stronghold by 2-0 against Cologne thanks to Raphael Guerreiro's long-range shot on 65 minutes and Thomas Muller's late strike, but Xabi Alonso's Leverkusen may still win their first Bundesliga title if they beat Werder Bremen at home on Sunday. The game was tremendously exciting, with Bayern dominating.

However, Die Roten's finishing fell short, and the Billy Goats were given far too many chances to score. On many instances against Koln, the England international seemed on the verge of adding to his league-leading Bundesliga goal total of 32. Kane and Mathys Tel may count themselves unfortunate to have hit the post in the first half. With only five rounds of league fixtures remaining, the Englishman will need a tremendous effort to match or beat Robert Lewandowski's single-season goal total of 41.
