Barcelona's defensive dilemma gets worse with more injuries

With several injuries mounting at a critical juncture in the season, Barcelona's defensive line is now under severe strain.

Due to the absence of important players, the team's defensive crisis has gotten worse, making it more difficult for the squad to keep its regular strong backline. The situation is now causing both manager Hansi Flick great anxiety. Pau Cubarsi, a bright future for Barcelona's defense, is currently under tremendous pressure to step up and assume a more prominent position.

Although Cubarsi has shown promise, it is unrealistic to expect him to be the team's primary defender given the inexperience of the men surrounding him. Two other key members of the defensive lineup, Inigo Martinez and Eric Garcia, are available but will also have a difficult time stabilizing a fragile backline. Ronald Araujo and Andreas Christensen are out due to injury. There are still more injuries on the list. The club's predicament has gotten worse as Sergi Dominguez, Barcelona's backup defender from the reserve squad, also got hurt.
