Mbappe strengthens superb Real Madrid's La Liga championship defence
Even if Kylian Mbappe had not finalized his long-awaited transfer to Real Madrid this summer, they would still be heavily favored to win La Liga.
With the French superstar, Kylian Mbappe joining the likes of Vinicius Junior and Jude Bellingham. Real Madrid appears to be on track to maintain their dominance over rivals Barcelona and Atletico Madrid in Spanish football. Mbappe made his Real Madrid debut on Wednesday, scoring and winning the UEFA Super Cup in a 2-0 victory over Atalanta.
The main challenge for coach Carlo Ancelotti is how to incorporate Mbappe into his plans. Bellingham, an England international, may return to the midfield role he had for Borussia Dortmund after being a crucial part of Madrid's assault last season, notably in the first half. Brahim Diaz, Arda Guler, and others will all try to make an impact when given the opportunity, as Ancelotti demonstrated last season that he was willing to rotate in La Liga. Mbappe, 25, had been Madrid's dream acquisition for years now Madrid's championship defence begins on Sunday against Real Mallorca, followed by their first home encounter on August 25 against Real Valladolid.
