Aston Martin feel they are “in the hunt” to sign outgoing Red Bull technical chief Adrian Newey to their organisation, with Mike Krack explaining that “we are all pushing” to get him on board.
Aston Martin believe they are "in the hunt" to sign Adrian Newey, the outgoing Red Bull technical chief, according to Team Principal Mike Krack. Newey, a renowned F1 design expert, announced in May that he would leave Red Bull in early 2025, sparking speculation about his future. Aston Martin and other teams have been eager to recruit him. At last weekend’s Dutch Grand Prix, Krack addressed the rumors in a conversation with F1 TV, stating that Aston Martin is among several teams vying for Newey's services.
He acknowledged the competition, saying, "Everybody’s trying to have someone of this calibre in [their] team." Krack emphasized Aston Martin’s growing appeal, noting their developing infrastructure. In the Team Principals' press conference, he reiterated the team's ambition and expressed hope that Newey might join them, calling it an honor to be linked with his name.
