Hamilton and Russell finish one-two in last Italian Grand Prix practice

Lewis Hamilton will be completing for a record sixth win at Monza. 

Lewis Hamilton lapped quickest in the last free practice for the Italian Grand Prix on Saturday, with teammate George Russell completing a Mercedes one-two at the top of the times. The seven-time world champion, who was quickest in Friday's second practice is planning to win a record sixth race at Monza on Sunday. He posted a time of one minute 20.117 seconds, with Russell 0.093 seconds behind.

Ferrari's Charles Leclerc finished third, with McLaren's Oscar Piastri in fourth. Max Verstappen, Red Bull's championship leader, complained about a lack of front grip and finished sixth fastest, with McLaren's Lando Norris fifth. Norris, who won in the Netherlands last weekend, is 70 points behind Verstappen with nine races remaining. Carlos Sainz, who won the Monza race last year, finished seventh, followed by Williams' Alex Albon and Franco Colapinto in eighth and ninth, with Haas' Nico Hulkenberg rounding out the top ten.
