Oklahoma City Thunder beat the Los Angeles Clippers 134-128

Shai Gilgeous-Alexander scored a career-high 45 points, and the Oklahoma City Thunder beat the Los Angeles Clippers 134-128 on Monday night in their first game this season without Chet Holmgren.

Following a hard fall during Sunday's defeat to Golden State, Holmgren will be out for at least eight weeks due to a pelvic fracture. The 7-foot-1 forward/center has been a top shot blocker and one of the league's most effective scorers. By converting 15 of 16 free throws and 13 of 21 field goals, Gilgeous-Alexander made up the difference. He had nine assists as well. For Oklahoma City, Jalen Williams scored 28 points and Lu Dort contributed 19.

The Thunder raced relentlessly and only committed 11 turnovers, even though their tallest starting was 6' 6". They had a 47-29 advantage. With 1:32 left, the Clippers were down four points when Norman Powell fouled out after scoring 31 points. Derrick Jones Jr. contributed 20 points, and Ivica Zubac finished with 22 points and 14 rebounds for Los Angeles. James Harden shot 5 of 15 and committed five fouls while having 17 points, 11 rebounds, and nine assists.
