Red Bull urged to make shock driver swap

Sergio Perez has had a season to forget, with the Mexican failing to finish on the podium since April, and calls have now sounded for him to be replaced with this four-time race winner

Former Williams and McLaren driver Juan Pablo Montoya argues Red Bull should use Carlos Sainz in lieu of Sergio Perez.

Although finishing second to Max Verstappen is no small accomplishment, Perez has struggled to finish on the podium this season, not having done so since the Chinese Grand Prix in April, while his teammate appears poised to win his fourth Drivers' Championship. Red Bull and Christian Horner have remained steadfast when questioned about the prospect of replacing the Mexican, but as Perez continues to let people down, the clamour for his dismissal are becoming louder and louder until they are impossible to ignore. According to Montoya, who has already started such a commotion, Williams-bound Sainz is the ideal driver for the position, and the opportune ascent of Franco Colapinto, who presently competes for the British team, may allow his suggestion to acquire traction.
