Have Australian selectors played right into India's hands?

Questions have emerged about whether it was wise to play Scott Boland in the Prime Minister's XI game against India considering it gave the tourists a free look at the Aussie bowler

Given that it offered the visitors a free look at the Australian bowler with the pink ball, there have been questions raised over whether it was a good idea to include Scott Boland in the Prime Minister's XI match against India. Due to Josh Hazlewood's side injury, Boland is expected to be included in Australia's XI for the second Test match in Adelaide.

Boland, who has previously done well with the pink ball in day-night Test matches, is a ready-made option for the Australians. Prior to Hazlewood's injury becoming known, the Victorian was selected to participate in Sunday's PM's XI match against India. Given that it provided India's Test hitters with an opportunity to prepare against Boland in same conditions as the second Test, there are now doubts over whether it would have been prudent to remove him from that match.
